The Black Society Community Network is more than just a social platform. We are a strategic digital infrastructure designed to generate value within and for the Black community in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2021 and rooted in Southwark, South London, we have grown into a movement that connects communities, culture, and health across the capital and beyond.
To connect culture, health, and opportunity.
We break down barriers by creating spaces where community voice leads, creativity heals, and collaboration unlocks new futures. Our platform serves as the digital home for this mission, bringing together individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are building intergenerational wealth, creating social and political power, reinforcing cultural identity, facilitating enterprise development, and driving policy advocacy from within.
Traditional social media platforms are designed to extract value from user behaviour through engagement metrics and monetization strategies that benefit shareholders. The Black Society Community Network operates on a fundamentally different principle: we generate value within and for the community we serve.
Our platform is purpose-built to:
Since our founding in 2021, The Black Society has achieved remarkable milestones:
The Black Society Community Network serves as the digital hub for our core programmes:
Our flagship mentoring programme connects young people aged 12-24 with relatable role models who share their lived experience. Through one-to-one and group mentoring journeys, confidence-building workshops, and pathways into further education and employment, we have established 200 mentoring relationships that transform lives.
Monthly gatherings bring together young people, families, and local partners to celebrate culture, share learning, and co-design change. These assemblies feature themed events on youth voice, culture, health, and enterprise, alongside partnership zones that connect residents with services and funding opportunities.
Through collaborative action with councils, schools, and community groups, we address the issues residents tell us matter most. Our neighbourhood listening labs capture resident insight, while pilot projects tackle education, employment, and safety challenges. We have supported 50 young people into employment or training and improved attendance across partner schools.
Arts-based health programmes improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and celebrate Black creativity as a force for healing. Our residencies are co-designed with local clinicians and cultural producers, featuring peer-led wellbeing circles and legacy toolkits for partners.
The Black Society Community Network is organized around eight community pillars, each representing a vital area of community life:
We recognize that economic power is essential for community sustainability. Our platform supports Black-owned businesses and professionals across eleven key sectors:
The Black Society Community Network represents a fundamental shift in how Black communities connect, collaborate, and create change. We envision a unified digital ecosystem where organizations like The Voice, MOBO, Mobilise, and others can maintain their unique identities while benefiting from a shared network that amplifies collective power.
This is not just a digital network. It is strategic infrastructure for building the future we deserve—one where Black voices are heard, Black businesses thrive, Black creativity is celebrated, and Black communities control their own narrative.
Whether you are a young person seeking mentorship, a professional looking to give back, a business owner wanting to connect with your community, or an organization seeking partnership opportunities, there is a place for you in The Black Society Community Network.
Together, we are building something extraordinary. Together, we are creating vibrant, healthy futures for our communities.
